South African creative online platform Bubblegum Club was commissioned by Nike to style an editorial featuring the Nike’s latest relaunched shoes which are modern adaptations of their iconic shoes. The styling and art direction creates a 80s inspired Afro aesthetic. Through the use of an orange snakeskin bodysuit, multi-coloured leggings, dual tone cycling shorts, and neon orange braids, Jamal Nxedlana (stylist and founder of Bubblegum Club) highlights the sneakers’ heritage and plays on the name of one the sneakers.
